Babybird’s Story
“When I found out I was pregnant with my daughter, I wanted to do something special for her. Play together, have fun, and create a toy that she will happily remember as ‘my mom made this for me’. I researched how babies play and what kind of toys they like. On Pinterest at first I made a toy-book using felt, but I realized that it wasn’t exactly what I wanted. Then I discovered that different textures were better and things changed.
I already had a lot of fabric scraps in my house. Because of growing up in a sewing house, we used to collect and store useful pieces of fabrics. I wanted to produce something using them. I thought that the fabric would be more durable than felt, and I could offer a fun experience by highlighting different textures and colors. The story of the Babybird also developed over time. While raising my daughter, I felt we needed a story like this. We couldn’t leave much because we were in the pandemic and we needed a safe break up story. Babybird met our needs.
While producing and thinking, I was always filled with a feeling that opened my heart. And of course, my baby really enjoyed this story. Here is Babybird’s story:Babybird flies out of the nest, explores the forest, clouds, rainbow and returns to her parents who will embrace her with love.
This story helped create a sense of secure separation for us and created a special bond with my baby. That’s how I created a delightful toy with Babybird’s story. It both contributes to my daughter’s development and will remain a meaningful memory.”
