Nil Karul is the founder of Reppatch and a multidisciplinary artist who places upcycling at the heart of her work. She is a graduate of Istanbul University’s Department of Furniture and Decoration. Her creative journey began in her early ages with textiles; her fascination with transforming unwanted, discarded clothes gradually evolved into a personal form of expression.
After her studies, this exploration deepened. Different types of waste materials were added alongside textiles; each material became part of her artwork with its own story. Nil believes that all waste materials carry potential, and in her artworks, she treats these materials not merely as forms, but as narratives with a history.
The discipline and experience she gained in sales during her professional life are reflected in her production process. Bringing her art practice to a collective level under the umbrella of Reppatch, Nil sees upcycling not merely as an individual production space, but as a shared and multiplying sphere of influence.
