Selin Albayrak

Selin Albayrak realized during her industrial design studies that she couldn’t bear to watch waste go to waste, so she took on this responsibility through design. During her time at Ozyegin University’s Department of Industrial Design, she began working on how waste could be recycled.

Her graduation project, a collaboration between Migros, Gökçeada Municipality, and Waste Log, focused on transforming users’ waste sorting habits. Through field studies and analyses, she developed a system consisting of waste bins for indoor and outdoor spaces, interface designs, and user scenarios. She also created upcycling projects and paintings from waste by melting down 3D-printed waste.

Today, Selin Albayrak stands out with her creations that combine creativity and environmental awareness. Each of her works aims to remind us that waste is not just an end, but a new beginning.
